FRANKFORT, KY – May 27, 2025 – The Frankfort Independent School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Joe Rogers as the new principal of Frankfort High School, effective July 1, 2025. Mr. Rogers will succeed Mr. Thad Elmore, who will be stepping down after a distinguished tenure leading the school.

Mr. Rogers brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success to his new role. He has served in various capacities at Frankfort High School, including Dean of Students, Instructional Coach, and Social Studies teacher, accumulating a total of nine years of experience within the school. In these roles, he played a pivotal role in curriculum development with Gradient Learning and is a staunch advocate of Frankfort High School's dual credit partnership with Kentucky State University. His dedication to fostering a supportive and challenging educational environment aligns perfectly with Frankfort High School's values.

Mr. Rogers expressed his enthusiasm for the new opportunity. "I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the principal of Frankfort High School," said Mr. Rogers. "I look forward to working closely with our talented faculty, dedicated staff, engaged parents, and most importantly, our incredible students, to continue building a vibrant and successful learning community. Together, we will uphold the school's tradition of academic rigor, extracurricular achievement, and community involvement."

The district extends its deepest gratitude to Mr. Thad Elmore for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to Frankfort High School. During his time as principal, Mr. Elmore oversaw significant improvements in ACT composite scores, expanded career and technical education offerings, and guided the school with grace and resilience.

"Mr. Elmore has been an invaluable asset to Frankfort High School and will continue to do so at the district level," added Dr. Sheri Satterly. "His passion for education and his tireless efforts have positively impacted countless students and families. We are excited to continue working with him in his new role."
