District Hall of Fame

Frankfort Crest

In 2011, the Frankfort Independent Schools Education Foundation began a hall of fame to honor the achievements of the many outstanding graduates, teachers, administrators and benefactors who have made Frankfort High School one of the commonwealth’s great high schools.

In 2013, the Foundation began adding graduates, teachers, administrators and benefactors from Clinton Street School and Mayo-Underwood School, the African-American schools that had existed in the Frankfort Independent Schools. Clinton Street School was operational from 1880 to 1928 and Mayo-Underwood School operated from 1928 to 1963, closing as a high school in 1957.

There have been lawyers, doctors, community leaders and bankers inducted into the hall of fame. A billionaire, diplomats and educators have been inducted into the hall of fame.
